Getting Creative with Vacation Plans – Episode 227

July 15, 2020

Covid has impacted lots of areas of our lives – including our summer travel plans. So now is a great time to get a little creative if you are hoping for any sort of vacation. Many of us have had our getaways cancelled, or even if not, there’s a chance you may not feel great about being cooped up in an airplane for hours on end. Even if it’s relatively safe, it still isn’t something many of us want to do these days. But if you already have planned for a week off from work it’s important to still take that time off, even if your plans end up looking a lot different than you had originally planned. Don’t abandon that vacation altogether – listen as we explore some creative options for summer travel that will be affordable as well as fun.

  • Check out Tripadvisor to find local attractions that you wouldn’t typically think of, and be sure to start with priceline if you are looking for a hotel room.
  • Here’s more info on those Walmart drive-ins, but don’t expect to see Jeff Bezos
  • Every Kid Outdoors is the program that allows 4th graders and their families to get into national parks for free
  • Start with Outdoorsy and RVshare before you consider purchasing your own RV

During this episode we enjoyed a Phinizy Swamp Thing by Savannah River Brewing- thanks to Jeff for donating this one to the show! And as we’ve ramped up the podcast with an additional Friday episode every week, we could really use your help to spread the word- let friends and family know about How to Money! Hit the share button, subscribe if you’re not already a regular, and give us a quick review in Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Help us to spread the word to get more people doing smart things with their money in these difficult times!

Best friends out!
