Using Credit Cards like a Pro

Credit cards can be a double-edged financial tool, and in this episode we cover how you can use them like a pro. Do you find yourself carrying a balance from one month to the next? Or are you tempted to overspend when you know you can just put it on credit? If so, then credit cards are NOT for you. For everyone else there are awesome benefits like earning cash back and scoring huge sign up bonuses, not to mention it’s easier to track your expenses (which is an important step when creating a budget). Listen to the full episode to hear us weigh the pros and cons of using credit cards!

Joel’s favorite credit card, the Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature card, is set up to have the cash back deposited directly into your Fidelity account. This is a great way to boost your retirement savings. Or if you’d like to play the sign-up bonus game like I do, check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred card which is a favorite of mine. I’ve taken advantage of that offer three times now, which is over $1500 in cash back.

Honorable mention: Debitize

Boulevard Love Child No. 8And at the beginning of this episode we popped open a bottle of Boulevard’s Love Child No. 8, which you can find and learn all about on Untappd. A huge thanks to Boulevard Brewing Company for donating this amazing beer and supporting the podcast! Hey guys, could you remind me of that card you mentioned that you get 1%cash back on purchases then another 1%cash back when you pay as well! I’m in the market for a new card and remembered this old episode!

Hey Guys!! I’m just now listening through, and Debitize has been acquired by AskTrim. However, I can’t find a feature for what I think Debitize was on their site. Do you happen to know where it is on their site, or if they got rid of that function? Thanks!!
