What’s up with credit unions?! We often suggest them here on the show but we’ve never fully explained what credit unions are and why it is that you need one in your life- it’s time to remedy that problem! We dive into the history of credit unions and why we think there is a fair amount of confusion around them. Are they even legit? There are some serious advantages and so we dive into why it is that credit unions are excellent institutions and how it is that you should utilize their offerings. But we’re also telling the full story and we explain why you shouldn’t be ditching your online bank- credit unions are great, but they’re not perfect.

Additional links from this episode:

  • To find a local credit union near you, head to MyCreditUnion.gov
  • With a one time donation of $5, you can meet the eligibility requirements of online credit unions like Alliant, Blue, and Consumers Credit Union– just be sure to check the rates on their products before joining!
