In this episode, you talk about voting in the presidential election. It is mentioned that your vote doesn’t really count and also that it’s going to basically come down to seven states and again it was said that your vote doesn’t really count. I have been a listener of your podcast podcast for years and also subscribe to your newsletter. These comments about voting are horrible. Our right to vote is a fundamental right and every vote does count. It doesn’t matter if you are Republican or Democrat or how you feel about politics, the right to vote is extremely important and everyone should be encouraged to exercise their right to vote in this country.
Good point, L. What we said was poorly worded. We’re fans of voting! I’m thankful we live in a free country where we have a say over the people who run our institutions. Our goal in that exchange was to encourage folks to focus more on what they CAN control than obsess about what they can’t. And as one listener said in the How To Money Facebook group, our presidential vote might not have much influence in big chunks of the country, but our vote in other state and local races can be crucial. Even so, I’ll be voting no matter what. But I also won’t pay too much attention to the political discourse or put too much weight on the outcome.
