Avoiding Financial Scams & Retirement Planning with Ben Carlson – Episode 235

August 3, 2020

Ben Carlson is the Director of Institutional Asset Management at Ritholtz Wealth Management. There, he helps to create detailed investment plans and manage portfolios for institutions and individuals to help them achieve their goals. Ben is also the author of the new book “Don’t Fall For It: A Short History of Financial Scams” which we’ll discuss. And on top of that, he has his own investing podcast called Animal Spirits, and he writes all about investing over at his site “A Wealth of Common Sense” – not only are we excited to talk about scams with Ben, but also how we as individuals should approach saving and investing for retirement.

We recommend that you check out Ben’s site A Wealth of Common Sense. He does a great job explaining why individuals who have only recently begun investing are actually at an advantage during a recession.

During this episode we enjoyed a Coconut Stout & Coffee Cream Ale by Kiitos Brewing- thanks to Andy for donating these to the show! And as we have ramped up the podcast with an additional Friday episode every week, we could really use your help to spread the word- let friends and family know about How to Money! Hit the share button, subscribe if you’re not already a regular, and give us a quick review in Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
